Victor Cuya was born in Lima, Peru. Since childhood he showed a natural tendency towards art. This inherente sensibility took him to study in Lima's Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes, the most important academic center for the fine arts in Peru. There he acquired and developed techniques which allowe him to reflect with great ability in his brushstrokes the amalgam of tonalities proper to a culture, impregnating in the canvas the everyday lives of the man of the Andes in his historical, social and cultural context

Victor Cuyas currently resides, in Newark, NJ. From this historic city the artist keeps making images and combining colors with the finality of making new proposals in the art world, so that from his Andean world new cultural bridges for humanity might be built.
