Welcome

The Newark Arts Council was created to advance and expand the artistic and cultural resources of the City of Newark, New Jersey. Our website features a directory of Newark-area artists, a daily calendar of arts-related events, press releases from galleries and other arts organizations, and information on Newark Arts Council's programs and events. We also provide resources for artists—open calls, available art space, and job openings—in our Opportunities section.

Announcement: Newark Art Walk continues, on Saturday, July 24th, highlighting galleries, restaurants and cafes within Lincoln Park Arts District

Taking place on the fourth Saturday of each month through October, the Art Walk features a cluster of Newark’s art-focused spaces, typically within walking distance of each other. Previous monthly walks have centered on the Halsey Street Village and the Market Street Corridor.
