“Back in the Day: Newark Nightlife in the 70s, 80s & 90s”

Join us for a discussion of the city’s jazz and disco nightclub scene during the 70’s, 80s & 90s with Newarkers who enjoyed this era of the city’s cultural and entertainment history. From the Cadillac Club, Sparky Js, the Key and Bridge Clubs, to Shanique’s, Le Joc’s, Executive Suite, Paradisio and Zanzibar — panelists will explore the history of Newark’s club heyday. Come share your photographs, hear the music and reminisce with our panelists.

Panelists: Former DJ Billie Prest (Moderator); Booking Agent Julie Black, R&B Performer CeCe Rogers, Jazz Performer Eugene Goldston and Nightclub Owner Ruben Johnson
