National Symphony Orchestra Of Cuba

March 23 @ 8:00 pm

The National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba, conducted by Enrique Perez-Mesa, makes its NJPAC debut with a Latin-flavored and dance-inspired program that includes Ravel’s Bolero. It begins softly. A single snare drum. Then, a flute. Gradually, each instrument of the orchestra joins in, until Ravel’s Bolero reaches one of the greatest climaxes in all of music. Hear it – with a heat direct from Havana. This concert features De Falla’s sizzling The Three-Cornered Hat, plus mesmerizing, seductive selections by Cuba’s 20th-century masters, only now being discovered. Enrique Perez-Mesa, conductor Da Falla: Suites 1 & 2 from The Three-Cornered Hat Concerto and soloist TBA Gramatges: Serenade for Strings Roldan: La Rebambaramba Ravel: Bolero
