Opening Reception – Promoting Books & Objects Exhibit

January 15 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

The Newark Public Library opened its doors 130 years ago, and the Newark Museum was founded exactly 20 years later. The relationship between these two institutions has always been close, primarily because the second director of the Library, John Cotton Dana, founded the Museum. Come celebrate the milestone anniversaries of these two great Newark institutions!

Speakers for the Opening Reception include Timothy J. Crist, President, Board of Trustees at The Newark Public Library; and Ulysses Grant Dietz, Retired Chief Curator, Newark Museum.

Free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

The Promoting Books & Objects: Empowering Newarkers exhibit will be on display from January 15 to August 31, 2019.

When: Tuesday, January 15, 2019 | 6-8 PM
Where: The Newark Public Library, Centennial Hall | 5 Washington Street, Newark, NJ 07102
