Open Doors Public Launch Party
The Newark Arts Council is excited to announce a new evening artisan market opportunity for artists, crafters, makers, food trucks, and others, as part of the 15th annual Newark Open Doors Citywide Arts Festival. The market will be held on Thursday October 20, from 5:30pm – 8:30pm, at Prudential Center’s Championship Plaza in downtown Newark, just two blocks from Newark Penn Station.
Be A Vendor:
Apply online by October 1, 2016 HERE. You will be notified of acceptance by October 8, 2016. There is no fee to apply, but accepted vendors will need to pay a fee of $20 to participate.
About Newark Open Doors:
Newark Open Doors welcomes residents and tourists to participate in Newark’s biggest festival of the visual arts and other art forms. For four days, Newark’s bustling arts scene will explode with an array of exhibits, talk-backs, performances, street displays, studio open houses, and more. The citywide arts tour and community event celebrates Newark’s unique and diverse contributions to the arts and to American culture. More than 40 venues will join forces to showcase visual, performing, and literary art. What you can vend:
We seek vendors selling art or art experiences, crafted, handmade, or limited edition items, handmade wellness and beauty products, and food trucks.
What you can NOT vend:
New/Mass Produced Merchandise, Mass Produced Beauty Products, Bulk Selling, Socks, Mass Produced Soaps and Shampoo, or As-Seen-On-TV, Pyrotechnics, Weapons/Guns, Knives, Chemicals, Controlled Substances, Pornography, Counterfeit Products, Tobacco products. Objectionable and offensive items will not be allowed at the management’s discretion. If items are considered inappropriate or illegal we will ask that you remove them. We reserve the right to reject any vendor or items for any reason including quality and presentation.
This is an outdoor market, no rain dates. You can arrive starting 4:30pm, you must be set up and ready for the public by 6:00pm.

How we will promote:
We will promote the Public Launch Party via website, all Newark Arts Social Media channels, e-blasts, press releases and Open Doors General Marketing which includes: online, banners and Star Ledger Pull Out Section.
Information for Vendors:
Do not request a particular space, you will be assigned a space. No profanity, abusive conduct, alcoholic beverages, or weapons. Objectionable and offensive items will not be allowed at the management’s discretion. If items are considered inappropriate or illegal we will ask that you remove them.

We always send an email out to announce the next date, vendor registration, event details and more. You’ll find that our social media outlets are always the way to get the most up-to-date info on the market. Once spaces sell out, they’re sold out. We will maintain a waiting list but it will only be used when a registered vendor cancels, we will then go in the order in which they were received.
