Music Walk: A South Orange Public Art Opportunity

Open Calls

Entry Date:

March 21, 2019

South Orange Village Center Alliance and the Village of South Orange Arts Advisory Council invite professional artists or artist teams to submit proposals to design, fabricate, and install a signature piece of public art in a pedestrian corridor between South Orange Avenue and Sloan Street Parking Lot.

We will accept projects with budgets of $500- $4000 which are inclusive of the design, fabrication and installation of the work, artist fees and materials. Projects should reflect the theme, “Music Belongs to Everyone” and should be positive, uplifting, inclusive, and welcoming. The proposed work should be a mural rendered on a substrate considered optimal for outdoor and long term installation. We recognize that the expected life of an artwork is dependent on materials and the weather and this will be taken into consideration during the selection process.
