objet trouvé, An Exhibition of Found Objects
The West Orange Arts Council proudly presents Objet Trouve’, a French term describing art created from undisguised, but often modified, objects or products that are not normally considered materials from which art is made, often because they already have a non-art function.
In this exhibit, artists are asked to demonstrate the unique ways they use found objects and breathe meaning and life into them, which can evoke memories, sparking connections and building upon themes. Even the most common of objects, discarded as no longer useful, can, in the hands of an artist, be given new purpose and life. This is a great opportunity for Artists to use their imaginations and
create something that is unexpected.
