Open Call: Group Show - home
A new public arts exhibition by Walk Bye; what makes home a home
Inspired by World Refugee Day on June 20th, we seek international artists to show us a representation of the theme: what makes home a home? During this modern world of globalization and multiculturalism, immigration and emigration, diversity and inclusion, how do we as humans classify home. Is it where the heart is? Where you hang your hat? Is there no place like it? Please present a piece for a new exhibit at the Morgan Library in Jersey City, NJ. The open call is open to all religions, genders, and nationalities.
What defines home? Is it people, a specific place or the memories made during a certain period of time? Is it where you were born, where you were raised, where you found love? I am NOT looking for a bunch of images of houses.
Walk_Bye and the Jersey City Public Library invite you to make a collage, a drawing, a sculpture, a cut paper piece, a maquette, or a photograph: any 2D media at all. No fee to enter. Walk Bye works differently than other exhibitions in that the banners go to print basically the day or the day after submissions are closed. It is best to get the submissions in as early as possible.
