There are 7 studios available at the following prices:
$200 (60 sq.ft.)
$500 (140 sq.ft.)
$550 (160 sq.ft.)
$550 (160 sq.ft.)
$600 (180 sq.ft.)
$700 (205 sq.ft.)
and $750 (220 sq.ft.) wheelchair access with private toilet and sink.
Sharing with another artist is possible (except for the $200 studio) for an additional $50 per month.
12 month residencies are preferred (and can be renewed) but shorter durations are possible.
All studios include access to a private lounge, kitchenette and bathroom for the residency program. Utilities are included in price but artists are responsible for cleaning the common residency areas and removing any trash they create. Building/studio access is 24/7. Part of the common area includes a 1500 sq.ft hallway/exhibition space for the sole use of the artists to exhibit their work.
Artists who complete the 12 month residency will be eligible for the annual residents' art exhibit in the storefront gallery in January. Halsey Art Center will participate with the bi-annual Newark Open Doors studio tours in the Spring and Fall and expect each artist to participate as well.
