Midwest Nice Art Emerging and Mid-Career Artist Grant

Deadline: January 20, 2025

The Nice Art Grant is an artist grant provided by Midwest Nice Art. Nice Grant is an unrestricted grant of $500 that supports emerging and mid-career artists. This annual grant is due January 20; each cycle, at least two artists will be selected to enhance their creative practices. This grant will be juried by Midwest Nice Art co-founders Tim Rickett + Epiphany Knedler. Winners will be asked to help jury Nice Grant in the following year. Winners will receive unrestricted grant funds, a blog profiling their art and creative practice, a post pinned to our profile, and consideration for future jurying and curatorial opportunities.

Applicants must be over 18 years of age and located within the United States. The $10 application fee is non-refundable; all applicants must pay the fee to be considered. All fees go back into the grant pool and help support further opportunities for artists through Midwest Nice Art, including exhibitions, juror fees, education, and operating and administrative costs. Midwest Nice Art aims to create accessible opportunities for artists. Applicants will hear back from us with a decision in early Spring 2025.

Please complete the application form here. Applicants can pay through PayPal or our website. Within the application, you are asked to share three images of your work and a resume or CV. Please resize your images with 300 dpi and 1500 px on the longest side. Label your jpegs with your first initial, last name, and title of work: FirstInitial_LastName_Title. Submit your resume/CV as a PDF, labeled FirstInitial_LastName_Resume.

Select your best work for submission! Work can be of any medium and subject matter. Make sure to take high-quality and high-resolution images of your work. Please provide a thorough resume. This should cover your professional experience, education, awards and honors, and exhibitions. For advice, on portfolios, statements, and more, view our Resources page.
