Preparing an art portfolio for college can be an overwhelming task for your students. As art teachers, we know that many arts-based colleges and universities tailor their portfolio review process to reflect the mission and vision of their Visual Arts and Design programs. This course will help you guide your students in creating college-ready art portfolios they can tweak and tailor to each individual application.

This 2-hour workshop will provide art educators with the tools they need to prepare their students for the college admissions process. Professional Artist Advisor Ashley Ouderkirk will guide participants through art portfolio basics, providing a checklist of items to organize and complete heading into the admissions process. Ashley will discuss artwork selection, how to write an artist statement and bio, and how to write about individual artworks. The session will conclude with a Q&A.
